"Cover Of The Rolling Stone" by Dr.Hook is a catchy song that teases and makes fun of rock and roll start. Mentioning all the things that rock stars care about like money, fame, groupies, limo rides and most obviously being on the cover of popular magazines like the Rolling Stone. This song came out on March 29th, 1973 and many of their songs by Dr.Hook followed a similar theme by poking fun at rock stars. Ironically 3 of the 7 band members of the band made it on the cover of the Rolling Stone and the famous magazine played along with their joke using the lyrics from another song called "Whats-Their-Name-make-The-Cover". Ultimately their song gave the magazine the kick start it needed and the publicity being that the magazine was only 5 years old at the time.
